Beis HaRav (or Beis Rebbi) is a term and concept used to define the family of the Rebbes of Chabad. The families of the Rebbes of Chabad across the seven generations of Chabad-Lubavitch Rebbes are considered part of the 'Beis HaRav,' with many members from the first three generations appearing in the book 'Beis Rebbi' published during that time about the Rebbe's family. Additionally, we find special references from many Chassidim to 'Beis HaRav,' and many take care not to speak ill of anyone from Beis HaRav, even if it may seem that they acted in a way contrary to the teachings of the Rebbe, or behaved inappropriately during a Farbrengen or another turbulent Chasidic incident. Even the Rebbe himself referred to this, often stating during the distribution of dollars: "You are, after all, a Shneersohn," or using similar expressions. |
