The nigun "Ashrei Ish Shelo Yishkachecha" from the Musaf prayer of Rosh Hashanah is a devotional melody (nigun dveikus) that was heard from the Rebbe Maharash when he would pray the silent Musaf prayer of Rosh Hashanah. From the words of the Rebbe Rayatz, it appears that the origin of this nigun is from the Tzemach Tzedek.
This nigun was recorded from the Chossid R' Pinchas Althoiz.
Words of the Nigun[edit | edit source]
"Ashrei ish shelo yishkachecha uven adam yitametz bach ki dorshecha l'olam lo yikashlu v'lo yikalmu lanetzach kol hachosim bach"
The nigun has two parts, the first with a movement of bitterness and longing, and the second with a movement of joy and trust in Hashem.
This nigun is nigun 179 in Sefer HaNigunim.
