Shem A"V is the name of Havaya written with Yuds in this manner: Yud, Hei, Vav, Hei. This name is the highest among the four combinations of the name Havaya: A"V (72), S"G (63), M"H (45), B"N (52). In the worlds, this name corresponds to the world of Akudim. In the Sefiros, this name corresponds to the Sefirah of Chochmah. In the human soul, this name corresponds to the Yechidah of the soul.

Its Essence

Shem A"V is created from the name Havaya spelled with Yuds in this manner: Yud Hei Vav Hei. Only in this name are there four Yuds, unlike in Shem S"G which, although it also has fillings of Yuds, does not have four Yuds.

Shem B"N is called "animal" in relation to Shem S"G which is called "great animal." Similarly, in the relationship between Shem M"H and Shem A"V, relative to Shem M"H which is called "Adam" (human), Shem A"V is called the level of "Adam HaGadol" (the great human).

In the worlds, Shem A"V corresponds to the world of Akudim, where all the Sefiros are bound together in one vessel without division. The possibility for all the Sefiros to exist without division comes from the illumination of Shem A"V, which is the aspect of bitul (nullification).

Its Essence in the Soul

The essence of Shem A"V in the soul corresponds to the level of Yechidah. In the Midrash, five levels of the soul are enumerated: Nefesh, Ruach, Neshamah, Chayah, and Yechidah, while in the Zohar, Chayah and Yechidah are included in the aspect of "Neshamah L'Neshamah" (soul of the soul). Thus, these four levels correspond to the names A"V, S"G, M"H, and B"N. Therefore, Shem A"V corresponds to the Neshamah L'Neshamah, which is the Yechidah.

The aspect of Yechidah in the soul is the Eitan, which is the strength of the soul that is revealed through the power of mesirus nefesh (self-sacrifice). The aspect of Eitan is ancient and not renewed, and it is Shem A"V which is a name that is not renewed (unlike the other names which are renewed).
