Devekut Niggun Attributed to Tzemach Tzedek

Jump to navigation Jump to search

This niggun is attributed by elder Chassidim to the Rebbe Tzemach Tzedek who would regularly sing it at every opportunity. Though it is not known whether he composed it himself or if it was composed by one of the Chassidim who sang before the Rebbe Tzemach Tzedek and the niggun found favor in his eyes.

This niggun expresses entirely a soulful song, immense bitterness intermingled with movements of hope and joy, an outpouring of the soul in divine yearning.

This niggun is Niggun 31 in Sefer HaNiggunim.
