Eliyahu Klotzker[edit | edit source]

Rabbi Eliyahu Klotzker was the son-in-law of the Alter Rebbe (R' Schneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of Chabad Chassidus).

Biography[edit | edit source]

R' Eliyahu was born around 5523 (1763), the firstborn son of R' Mordechai and Mirel Klotzker.[1]

He married the Alter Rebbe's eldest daughter, Rebbetzin Freida Klotzker.

In the book Beis Rebbi,[2] he is mentioned in the diary of the Chevra Kadisha (Jewish burial society) as the Alter Rebbe's first son-in-law. The author of Beis Rebbi notes there that he had not yet been able to research the details of his birth.
