In the time of Redemption, there will be no evil or impurity, and the existence of evil will not be possible, because there will be such a lofty revelation of G-dliness that the existence of evil will be nullified, and moreover the evil (darkness) will be transformed into light.

Source of the Destiny[edit | edit source]

Purification of Man - Yet Evil Still Exists[edit | edit source]

Purification of the Jewish People[edit | edit source]

In the Future Era, the Holy One, blessed be He, will purify the entire Jewish people, and they will become a new existence, with a new heart:

"And I will sprinkle pure water upon you, and you shall be clean; from all your impurities and from all your idols will I cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart and a new spirit I will place within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." — Ezekiel 36:25-26

In addition to this (now we are all impure from contact with the dead, but) the King Moshiach will prepare [through Aaron the Kohen] the tenth Red Heifer, and the Children of Israel will be purified.

"Nine red heifers were prepared from the time this commandment was given until the Second Temple was destroyed. The first was prepared by Moses our teacher, the second by Ezra, and seven from Ezra until the destruction of the Temple; and the tenth will be prepared by King Moshiach, may he be speedily revealed, amen, so may it be His will." — Rambam, Laws of the Red Heifer, end of chapter 3

Purification of the World[edit | edit source]

Nullification of Evil in a Way That Evil Cannot Exist[edit | edit source]

"And it shall come to pass on that day, says the Lord of Hosts... the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth." — Zechariah 13:2

"In the Future Era, the Holy One, blessed be He, will bring the evil inclination and slaughter it before the righteous and before the wicked. To the righteous it will appear as a high mountain, and to the wicked it will appear as a thin hair." — Sukkah 52a

Transformation of Evil to Good - And Night Will Shine Like Day[edit | edit source]

"And night will shine like day" — Psalms 139:12

The simple meaning of this verse is that for the Holy One, blessed be He, darkness and light are equal, and darkness does not obscure anything from Him.

But Chassidus explains this verse in future tense, indicating that in the future era not only will darkness be nullified because of the revelation of the most sublime light in such a way that the existence of darkness and evil will not be possible, but the darkness itself will be transformed into light, and the advantage of light will shine forth from within the darkness.

The Two Great Luminaries and the Light Created on the First Day[edit | edit source]

Expanded topic – And the light of the moon shall be like the light of the sun

The night will shine because there will be two great luminaries, and the light that was created on the first day was hidden away for the righteous for the future time.

It Has Already Occurred in History[edit | edit source]

The Purification of Man[edit | edit source]

A semblance of the concept of "And I will sprinkle..." exists with a tzaddik who has no evil inclination.

A new heart immediately (since it's impossible to live even a moment without a heart) has already occurred in history, "And it came to pass on the eighth day" Aaron became a new entity [- a Kohen Gadol], and similarly this happened to every Jew at the giving of the Torah, as they immediately became a new entity.

The Purification of the World, Hashem Slaughters the Evil Inclination[edit | edit source]

The flood's purpose was to purify the world, and "the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth."

At the giving of the Torah, there was a semblance of "the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth," as their spiritual contamination ceased.

A semblance of "the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth" was when the Sages nullified the evil inclination for idolatry.

The Transformation of Evil to Good - And Night Shall Shine Like Day[edit | edit source]

During the exodus from Egypt, there was light at the time of offering the Pesach sacrifice (which enabled them to circumcise), and then there was no night.

Our Actions and Service[edit | edit source]

Removing Darkness and Evil through Adding Light[edit | edit source]

By illuminating the darkness of exile, a little light pushes away much darkness, "a mitzvah is a candle and the Torah is light," one who comes to purify (others).

We bring the light of redemption by nullifying the darkness of exile, by illuminating "the candle of Hashem is the soul of man." Through revealing the Yechidah (highest soul level), the Sitra Achra (forces of impurity) is completely nullified.

By elevating Kelipat Nogah (neutral husk) to holiness, the three impure Kelipot are nullified because the intermediary is nullified, and there will be eternal redemption.

By establishing a partition in the synagogue, a partition in holiness, the opposing forces will be nullified.

Through slaughtering the Yetzer Hara (evil inclination), the Holy One Blessed be He will slaughter the Yetzer Hara.

Through fulfilling Torah and mitzvot (not in a way that adds vitality to the Kelipot - darkness, but rather) in a way that they are good and illuminating deeds. This comes through preceding prayer service, which makes good deeds illuminating, and then through each mitzvah one adds light to the world and expels darkness, which will bring about "and the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth."

Through lighting Shabbat candles.

Through the purification of the Jewish people, and something similar must happen now. Similar to how the exodus from Egypt was in the merit of righteous women.

Mikveh of purity. Family purity.

Through the six constant mitzvot.

Transforming Darkness into Light[edit | edit source]

When one withstands a test, intentional sins become merits, and "night will shine like day."

Through the service of transforming bitterness to sweetness.

Since with the arrival of Shabbat the promise "the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth" will be fulfilled, there is a need to transform matters of the opposing side that contain elements of good while still in exile – one must remember that this is only the "parable," and one must see the "lesson," and then one sees – not the physical matters, like the steel from which the "tank" is made, and the power of gunpowder in shells, etc., but rather the divine power within it – "by the word of Hashem the heavens were made," which is the power of the Creator in the created, and "from Hashem man's steps are established," which is the power that brings the tank and directs it to fire to the proper place, such that this matter is transformed to good in one's thought, and since a Jew is the master over the world, the world is also transformed to good, so the tank becomes his, and he can direct it as he wishes, and one can rely on him, since he will certainly direct it according to the will of the Holy One Blessed be He.

Taste, Glimpse, and Beginning[edit | edit source]

The beginning of this in our generation was when we saw one person stand against a government of 180 million people, and triumph, and not only in a way that they were nullified, but moreover - that "strangers stood and fed your flocks," and not through war, but in a way of "with calmness and rest you shall be saved".

Through connecting to the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond limitation and measure, it is possible even now to experience the state of the future redemption, when "the spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth".

The elevation of the three completely impure kelipot (shells) will only occur in the future era, but on Friday evening there is the beginning of this matter, through the unification of the higher and lower divine unity...

Divine service that is a foretaste of this is when in a Jew's world, it is not possible to do something contrary to the Divine will [there are not two paths, there is no choice], he is so connected to the Holy One, blessed be He, to such an extent that he doesn't even need to think about how to behave because "he bows of his own accord," and in a manner of "there is nothing else". Everyone has special times, during prayer, or while studying Torah, or while fulfilling a mitzvah in which one is especially careful, or even while engaged in permitted matters for the sake of Heaven, when one surrenders one's entire existence to Godliness, and through this one is not susceptible to the soiled garments.

During the Six Day War The Holy One, blessed be He, showed us an example of the transformation of the opposing forces to good that will happen in the future era while we are still in exile, when "Egypt" (and "all exiles are called by the name of Egypt") had weapons, which are associated with the three completely impure kelipot, such that it would seem impossible for them to be transformed into merits, yet in practice we saw that those same weapons transferred to the possession of the right side, to the Jewish people, and became "merits" through being turned to fire in the opposite direction!

And as they wrote in the newspaper - "This was from God; it is wondrous in our eyes," meaning that these were indeed weapons of the three completely impure kelipot, which were actually aimed toward Jerusalem, the holy city, etc., etc., and nevertheless, "in the blink of an eye," "in one moment and one instant," the Jewish people received those same weapons, and only needed to turn them from the left side to the right side, and then they became matters of complete holiness, in a way that requires no explanation and is accepted by everyone with simplicity!
