King David's song in Tehillim, "As a deer yearns for streams of water, so does my soul yearn for You, Elokim," illustrates the great thirst of the nefesh elokis (divine soul) for a drop of Elokus while imprisoned in the physical and material body.
This nigun is number 14 in Sefer HaNigunim.
LyricsEdit
Like a deer that yearns for streams of water, So does my soul yearn for You, Elokim; My soul thirsts for Elokim, For the living G-d, when will I come And appear before Elokim[1]?
