Rabbi Neriah Menachem Amitai is The Rebbe's emissary in the Ein HaYam neighborhood of Ashkelon.

Biography

He was born in the early 5740.

He studied at Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva in Kiryat Gat and then traveled to study at Central Tomchei Temimim 770 as part of the "Kevutzah Year" (a year dedicated to study and immersion in the central institution).

He married his wife, Lilach, and settled in Dimona, where he studied in a Kollel (Yeshiva for married men) in Be'er Sheva.

In the summer of 5766 (2006), he moved to Moshav Shafir, where he and his family began activities at the Chabad House of the Gaza Regional Council - Nitzan (for the evacuees of Gush Katif), under the management of Rabbi Yigal Kirshenzaft.

In 5775, together with a group of Avreichim (young Rabbis/Kollel students), he founded the synagogue "Chabadnitze Shul", and in 5776, he donated a Torah scroll to the synagogue.

Subsequently, he went out on The Rebbe's Shlichus (emissary work) in the Ein HaYam neighborhood of Ashkelon and consequently moved there, taking with him the Torah scroll he had previously donated to the synagogue in Kiryat Malachi.

In 5784, he and his son sang a song composed following the "Iron Swords War" on the stage of the main Banquet at the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries.

Chabad House Ein HaYam

The Chabad House serves as the synagogue and a center for the dissemination of Torah and Judaism in the neighborhood.

This Chabad House also serves as an active synagogue with fixed prayer times. The Rabbi delivers a regular and active weekly Torah class (Shiur Torah).

During the month of the High Holidays, the Chabad House expands its communal activities, with approximately four hundred people participating in the holiday prayers that are held in an open tent.

In the Hebrew month of Iyar 5783, a Torah scroll dedication (Hachnasat Sefer Torah) was held at the Chabad House, sponsored by one of the congregants.

Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War, it has been active in strengthening the soldiers in the Southern Sector by distributing equipment, Tefillin (phylacteries), Tzitzit (ritual fringes), and Chitas books (a compilation of daily Chabad study materials).
