Sarah Alexandrov Zaslavsky (daughter of the Mitteler Rebbe)
Rebbetzin Sarah (Daughter of the Mitteler Rebbe) edit
Rebbetzin Sarah[1] was the youngest daughter of the Mitteler Rebbe (Rabbi Dovber Schneuri, the second Rebbe of Chabad). She was born in the Hebrew month of Elul 5571 (August–September 1811)[2] and was named after her older sister Sarah, who had passed away a few years earlier.
Marriage to Rabbi Aaron Alexandrov edit
On the 15th of Menachem Av 5586 (August 19, 1826), Rebbetzin Sarah married Rabbi Aaron Alexandrov of Shklov. At the wedding, the Mitteler Rebbe delivered several discourses of Chassidus (Chassidic teachings).[3]
In 5593 (1832–33), their daughter Rivka was born. Rivka later married the Maharash (Rabbi Shmuel Schneersohn, the fourth Rebbe of Chabad).
Later life edit
Rabbi Aaron Alexandrov passed away at a young age, on the 27th of Iyar 5598 (May 21, 1838). Rebbetzin Sarah subsequently married Rabbi Aaron Zaslavsky of Kremenchug, a son of Rebbetzin Freida, in 5603 (1842–43).
Three years later, on the 10th of Adar 5606 (March 7, 1846), Rebbetzin Sarah passed away. Her children were raised by their maternal grandmother, Rebbetzin Sheina.
