The responsa of the Alter Rebbe, published in 5783 (2022–23), together with the complete set of Shulchan Aruch HaRav

A collection of responsa of the Alter Rebbe was first printed in the very first edition of Shulchan Aruch HaRav, published by the sons of its author — the Alter Rebbe — in 5574 (1814) in Kapust.

Over the years, additional editions appeared, each including a growing number of responsa, in some cases accompanied by annotations and references.

In recent years, many previously unknown responsa were discovered and published in the Torah journal Yagdil Torah by Rabbi Shalom Ber Levin.

In 5748 (1987–88), Kehot Publication Society issued the responsa in a dedicated volume, with supplementary material, edited by Rabbi Levi Bistritsky.

In 5783 (2022–23), Kehot released a new edition of the work.[1]

  1. When the Otzar HaChassidim organization released its new edition of Shulchan Aruch HaRav in 5783 (2022–23), this volume was included alongside it (see image).
