Yehuda Leib (Great Grandson of The Maharal)
Rabbi Yehuda Leib (5371 (1611)–5464 (1704)) was the son of Rabbi Shmuel, son of Rabbi Betzalel Charif, son of the Maharal of Prague.

Life
Rabbi Yehuda Leib was born to Rabbi Shmuel in the year 5371 (1611). From childhood he showed signs of exceptional gifts, and he grew into a great Torah scholar. He studied under Rabbi Eliyahu Baal Shem of Worms, who had settled in Prague and established a branch of his yeshiva there.
His first wife, and after her his second wife, both passed away leaving young children. After the death of his father — who had served as head of the community in Prague — the members of the community chose Rabbi Yehuda Leib to fill his father's place, but he declined the offer. He married Sarah, the daughter of Rabbi Chaim of Pozna, and in the year 5420 (1660) relocated to Pozna, where their son Moshe was born. During his years in Pozna he engaged in Torah discussion and debate with the scholars of the city, and served as its av beis din (rabbinic court judge).[1]
He passed away in the month of Tishrei of the year 5464 (1704), at the age of ninety-three,[2] and was buried in Prague.
His son Moshe of Pozna was the great-grandfather of the Alter Rebbe.
