For yeshiva ketana, his parents sent him to study at Yeshiva Torah Vodaath in New York, and he was even sent from there with a group of outstanding students to strengthen Yeshiva Ohr Elchanan in California for a short period. While studying at Torah Vodaath, he would attend farbrengens at 770 and even merited to participate in a farbrengen of the Frierdiker Rebbe.
