Pharaoh and the Butchers
On the verse "And Yosef was brought down to Mitzrayim," it is brought in Chassidic texts that the Yesod of Adam Kadmon descended to the level of the throat of Arich Anpin of kelipah, which is the concept of Pharaoh, the upper neck.
The idea of the Sar HaMashkim (Chief Butler), Sar HaTabachim (Chief Butcher), and Sar Ha'Ofim (Chief Baker), who were the three ministers of Pharaoh, is that they draw their sustenance from the neck.
When Yosef was elevated, he cut off the sustenance of Pharaoh's three ministers from the neck, so they could no longer draw influence to the neck.
Pharaoh Was Not a Chossid
When the Frierdiker Rebbe was a young child, his teacher Reb Shimshon explained to him Pharaoh's mindset - how he promised and then went back on his word, etc. The young Rebbe wasn't satisfied with the explanation until his teacher told him: "Moshe Rabbeinu alav hashalom was a chossid (specifically a Chabad chossid, who didn't want miracles, but rather wanted to be given the Torah, and when he would bring the Torah to Yisroel, they would know that Hashem sent him), and Pharaoh was a misnaged. And a misnaged, when things become comfortable, returns to his old ways."
