== Development of the Yeshiva ==
During Cheshvan, the Frierdiker Rebbe sent R' Shmuel Levitin to help establish the yeshiva in its first steps. Later the Rebbe instructed to arrange a working committee for managing Tomchei Temimim, chosen by local anash. The Rebbe appointed R' Yehuda Albert as committee head - apparently an activist who helped and supported the yeshiva greatly. R' Levitin left the yeshiva shortly after 10 Kislev 5702, about a month after arriving.
Less than a month after opening, the nine students conducted major outreach among the city's Jews and gathered twenty-four young local students from the shuls. For them, they established two classes called "Achi Temimim", temporarily in the Chabad Nusach Ari shul on Du Park Street.
The Frierdiker Rebbe wasn't satisfied with the success, and about a week later sent a letter to R' Levitin complaining that they gathered "only" twenty-four students. He gave practical instructions how to gather more students. As part of the campaign, the students published a newspaper called 'Der Chaver' for a year calling on young parents to send their children to yeshiva.
Meanwhile, boys who traveled from Germany to England were arrested because they spoke German and were suspected of spying for the Germans. These boys were sent to a detention camp in New Brunswick, Canada. After the Frierdiker Rebbe worked to free them through R' Levitin, in Pesach 5702 they joined the yeshiva, including Aharon Klein, Yehuda Spatz, Reuven Tzvi Yehuda Feigelstock, who through this rescue became close to Chabad Chassidus.
A year later in 5703 the yeshiva had over 200 students. The Frierdiker Rebbe sent a letter saying thank G-d after the great effort the students invested, there should have been at least 500 students.
In 5710, R' Yehuda Chitrik was appointed spiritual director of the yeshiva. On 15 Shevat 5712, the Rebbe instructed him to establish Achos Temimim.
On 19 Kislev 5716, the yeshiva celebrated together with 500 students the first ordination ceremony recognized in Canada. The impressive evening was held at Young Israel with participation of all city Jews. The students were tested by R' Hirschhorn - Chief Rabbi of Montreal. The Rebbe instructed to make it a big celebration, even inviting the mayor and congressmen. The Rebbe sent a special representative, R' Shlomo Hecht, who made a great kiddush Hashem.
