Rabbi Baruch (Shmuel)[1] was the second son of the Mitteler Rebbe. He was apparently named after his great-grandfather, Rabbi Yisroel Baruch Posner, the father of the Alter Rebbe.[2]
On the 1st of Elul 5582 (August 17, 1822), he married the Rabbanit Beila Reiza, the daughter of his paternal uncle Rabbi Chaim Avraham, a son of the Alter Rebbe. The volume Maamarei Admur HaEmtzaee — the collected maamarim (Chassidic discourses) of the Mitteler Rebbe — contains several discourses delivered by the Mitteler Rebbe at the wedding celebration.[3]
