Rabbi Yitzchak HaCohen Arnold (1929 - 10 Av 5782), was one of the Rebbe's shluchim in Los Angeles, California.

Life History[edit | edit source]

Born in 1929.

He studied at the central Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch Yeshiva at 770. In 1958, the Rebbe instructed him, along with twelve other bochurim, to travel and study in the Holy Land for about two years.

During his stay in the Holy Land, he married Mrs. Chana. After five years of marriage, they still did not have children. His wife then remembered a letter she had written to the Rebbe long before, when she was a kallah, about covering her hair as a married woman. "At that time, the Rebbe answered her, 'If you cover your hair with a sheitel, as a married woman should, you will have children,'" Rabbi Arnold recounted. "She took this letter with her when she went to the Rebbe to ask for a bracha. She placed the letter on the table and said, 'I have a promise,' and then she burst into tears." Fourteen months later, their first son was born.

He returned to the United States and began working in education in Los Angeles.

He served as the head of a Kollel for the elderly in Los Angeles.

He passed away at a good age on 10 Av 5782. His funeral procession passed by 770 on its way to the cemetery.
