[[File:Χ‘Χ''Χ ΧͺΧ©Χ''Χ-Χ.jpg|thumb|Title page of Sefer HaMaamarim 5734-5735 (1974-1975) published by Vaad Kisvei Kodesh]] '''Sefer HaMaamarim (Book of Discourses)''' collects the maamarim (Chassidic discourses) of the Rebbe Shlita according to the chronological order in which they were delivered. == Overview == The maamarim that the Rebbe delivered from the beginning of his leadership were recorded close to the time they were spoken by appointed transcribers, and over the years they were printed and distributed in unofficial copies. Unlike the edited maamarim that were officially printed and distributed by Kehot Publication Society and later compiled in Sefer HaMaamarim Melukat, the unedited maamarim were not printed in an organized and official manner. Over the years, the maamarim from some years were bound together, but still unofficially: the maamarim were collected as they appeared in the original transcripts, typed on a typewriter, full of errors and without source references, and were also printed only in copies and were hardly distributed. In the 5740s (1980s), the printing of Sefer HaMaamarim in volumes according to chronological order began. The maamarim from the early years were published unofficially and in an unorganized way, similar to the Sichos Kodesh volumes that were published by private publishers. Beginning in 5743 (1983), Vaad Hanachos HaTemimim began printing the maamarim delivered in those years (which they had printed close to when they were delivered) in volumes and in a more organized manner, alongside the Sefer HaSichos they printed, and the Rebbe even wrote the date for their foreword, similar to Kehot publications. But all the printing of unedited maamarim in those years was in mimeograph printing (in Yiddish: "kopir"). In 5748 (1988), the printing of maamarim began in regular and attractive books with new editing, adding additional maamarim that were missing, and with the addition of source references: The maamarim delivered by the Rebbe between the years 5711-5721 (1951-1961) and 5730-5736 (1970-1976) were published by Vaad Kisvei Kodesh under the editorship of Rabbi Yoel Kahn and were printed in 9 volumes. Following this, the Sefer HaMaamarim of the years 5738-5748 (1978-1988) were republished in an additional series by Vaad Hanachos HaTemimim, edited by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Zarchi. In recent years, Vaad Hanachos B'lahak has published the series "Toras Menachem - Sefer HaMaamarim" - which includes the Rebbe's maamarim in a new edition and divided into chapters by Rabbi David Feldman, from the Toras Menachem series. So far, 26 volumes have been published - maamarim from the years 5711-5739 (1951-1979). Most of the maamarim in these series were not edited by the Rebbe Shlita. The maamarim that were edited were collected from the series Sefer HaMaamarim Melukat. == See Also == * Sefer HaMaamarim Melukat * Sefer HaMaamarim according to Parshios and Holidays * Sichos Kodesh * Vaad Kisvei Kodesh * Vaad Hanachos HaTemimim == External Links == * Drive folder with Sefer HaMaamarim by years - Vaad Kisvei Kodesh. * Sefer HaMaamarim by years - Vaad Kisvei Kodesh.
