Michigan is a state in the United States. Its capital city is Lansing, but the largest and most well-known city in the state is Detroit. == Chabad in Michigan == In the year 5690 (1930), the Frierdiker Rebbe (Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn) visited Detroit. During that visit, approximately 500 Jews came to the train station to greet the Rebbe, and the Frierdiker Rebbe used this opportunity to inspire the crowd with divrei Torah. In the year 5718 (1958), the Rebbe sent Rabbi Sholom Dovber Shemtov to serve as a shliach in Detroit, making it the first city to which the Rebbe sent a shliach in the United States. There are approximately 50 shluchim operating in Michigan. === Among the shluchim working in the state === * Rabbi Sholom Dovber Shemtov * Rabbi Yosef-Yitzchak Shemtov * Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten * Rabbi Aharon Goldstein * Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten - shliach in Flint * Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Mishulovin - Detroit he:ΧΧΧ©ΧΧ
