==== Explanation of the Holiday Name ==== Regarding "Simchat Torah" there are two interpretations: (a) The Torah is in a state of joy, and therefore the Jewish people also rejoice in the Torah's joy, as in the liturgical poem "Rejoice and be happy in the joy of Torah," meaning that the Jewish people rejoice in the Torah's joy. (b) Moreover - the Jewish people bring joy to the Torah.
