==== The Correction and Perfection of the Deficiency of the Two Great Luminaries ==== At the beginning of creation, HaKadosh Baruch Hu created two great luminaries, where the sun and the moon were equal. But now, as a result of the moon's complaint during the six days of creation that "two kings cannot use the same crown," HaKadosh Baruch Hu diminished the moon. This diminishment was expressed both in its light, as it has no light of its own but only what it receives from the sun, and in its size. As a result, the orbit of the moon is less than the orbit of the sun during the year, and consequently the Jewish calendar involves very complex calculations. In the Future Era, the deficiency of the moon will be corrected, and then the moon will shine by itself and there will again be "two great luminaries." Consequently, the lunar year will be like the solar year, because everything will return to how it was at the beginning of creation.
