==== Member of Agudas Chasidei Chabad ==== In 5761 (2001), Rabbi Shlomo Maidanchik, chairman of Agudas Chasidei Chabad in the Holy Land, appointed Rabbi Wilshansky as a member of the Aguch administration. The Chabad Rabbinical Court approved the appointment, and the court secretary Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yeruslavsky even participated in the association meeting where the decision was made and blessed it in the name of the court. After about a year, a letter was received from the court announcing that the appointment was made without permission. Rabbi Mordechai Ashkenazi and Rabbi Yosef Hecht informed the Aguch administration that this letter had no halachic or practical validity and they should continue to operate as usual. After Rabbi Maidanchik's passing in 5764 (2004), all members of the court again approved his joining the association.
