==== The Meeting with the Frierdiker Rebbe ==== Expanded topic - '''The Frierdiker Rebbe's Journey to the United States (5690)''' In 5690 (1930), the Frierdiker Rebbe traveled to the United States on behalf of Russian Jewry, and during the visit he was invited to meet the President of the United States, Herbert Hoover. In the final weeks of his journey, he stayed at the Newton Hotel for several weeks, and on the night of 14 Tammuz at 12 midnight, he traveled to Washington to meet the President. At 7 in the morning of Thursday, 14 Tammuz, he met with President Hoover. During the visit, the Frierdiker Rebbe thanked the President for the freedom of action he granted to the Jewish people, and for his concern for Jews overseas. After the visit, the Frierdiker Rebbe returned to New York City.
