== After World War II == After the end of World War II, the Rebbe appointed Rabbi Dovid Bravman as the executive director of Kehot (publishing house) in Europe, with the goal of taking advantage of the low printing costs across Europe and particularly in Germany, which was significantly cheaper than in America following the events of the war. After various searches and inquiries, Rabbi Bravman chose to print the books in a printing house in Munich<ref>Visit to Paris 5707 (1947), Page 22. History of Kehot Publication House (by Zushe Wolf).</ref>, and in this printing house many foundational Chabad seforim were printed, such as the first edition of Sefer HaTanya that was printed under the instructions of the Frierdiker Rebbe (Admo"r HaRayatz), Siddur Tehillat Hashem, Sefer HaMaamarim Yiddish, Sefer HaMaamarim 'Ateret Rosh' (by the Mitteler Rebbe), Torah Or and Likkutei Torah, Shaarei Orah, the set of Shulchan Aruch of the Alter Rebbe, the maamar 'Kinyan HaChaim', Shut Tzemach Tzedek, and more. After the value of the German currency rose, it was no longer worthwhile for Kehot to continue printing the seforim in Germany, and in the year 5711 (ΧͺΧ©Χ"Χ/1951) the Rebbe informed Rabbi Dovid that his mission was completed, and he could make aliyah to the Holy Land.
