[[File:ΧͺΧ€ΧΧΧ.jpg|thumb|Chassidim in prayer]] '''Deveikut''' is a type of connection between two things, described in [[Toras HaChassidus|Chassidic teaching]] as the connection to the Holy One, Blessed be He. In a person's divine service, Deveikut is a state where one is immersed in deep thought about the reality of God and His actions, forgetting about the physical world in which they live, as a result of contemplating the Divine. Chassidic teaching discusses Deveikut extensively and the paths of contemplation that lead to it. Generally, as a preparation for the contemplation that leads to Deveikut, one must study Chassidic teachings about spiritual worlds, the ten Sefirot, and more. Often, those who contemplate also use Chassidic melodies during prayer service.
