'''Ariston''' is an Aramaic term meaning breakfast. According to the words of our Sages, the Holy One, blessed be He, will make an Ariston for the righteous in the future, alluding to one of the aspects of divine pleasure that souls will receive in the future.

== In the Midrash ==
The source of this concept is in Midrash Rabbah on Parshat Shemini:

"Rabbi Berechiah said in the name of Rabbi Yitzchak: The Holy One, blessed be He, will make an Ariston (breakfast) for His righteous servants in the future, and anyone who did not eat neveilot (non-kosher meat) in this world will merit to see it in the World to Come. This is what is written (Vayikra 7): 'And the fat of a neveilah and the fat of a tereifah may be used for any work, but you shall not eat it,' so that you will eat from it in the future. Therefore, Moshe warns Israel and says to them, 'This is the living thing that you shall eat.'"

In simple understanding, it appears from the continuation of the Midrash that all the words of our Sages and their allusions regarding the feast of the righteous in the future are connected to this meal.

== In Chassidut ==
In Chassidic teachings it is explained that in the pleasure that the souls of the righteous will receive in the future, there are several levels. The first and lowest level among them is the meal alluded to by the term 'Ariston.' Just as physical pleasure comes through food, which is a tangible pleasure, so too this pleasure will be a form of tangible pleasure, which is lower than intangible pleasure, which is the simple, essential pleasure that is above all levels.

In one source, it is brought that this meal is comparable to a feast after a war.
