After his wedding to his wife, Mrs. Chana Liba, daughter of the Chassid R' Yaakov Ginzburg in 5739 (1979), he settled in Crown Heights and studied for two years in the Kollel Avrechim under the Rebbe's secretariat. In 5741 (1981), he joined the staff of Yeshiva Gedolah Ohr Elchanan in Los Angeles and served as a mashpia (spiritual mentor). Subsequently, he was appointed as the rabbi of Congregation Beis Levi Yitzchak and served as a posek (halachic authority) and rabbi of the local Chabad community, as well as a member of the Rabbinical Association of California.
