Editing Nigun "Keli Ata"

'''Keli Ata''' is one of the ten Nigunim (melodies) of the Alter Rebbe.

The lyrics of this nigun are taken from Tehillim (Psalms 118:28), which are also recited in the Hallel prayer: "Keli Ata v'odeka, Elokai aromemeka" ("You are my G-d and I will thank You, my G-d I will exalt You").

In the Rebbe's household, it is customary to sing this nigun at the conclusion of the Seder night after saying "L'Shana Haba'ah B'Yerushalayim" (Next year in Jerusalem), at the time when the wine is returned from Eliyahu's cup to the bottle.

This nigun is sung during the drawing of "mayim shelanu" (water that has rested overnight for baking matzah).

The Rebbe said in the name of the Frierdiker Rebbe (Previous Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn) that this nigun is a segulah (spiritual remedy) for the revelation of Eliyahu.

This is Nigun #3 in Sefer HaNigunim (The Book of Nigunim).

In addition to this nigun, there is another melody attributed to the Tzemach Tzedek on these same words, which does not appear in Sefer HaNigunim.
