Editing Nachum Dov Ber Schneersohn

The Rebbe '''Nachum Dov Ber Schneersohn''' of Ovruch (1842-8 Kislev 1895) was the grandson of the Rebbe Tzemach Tzedek and continued his father's path in leading the Chassidim, as a branch of Chernobyl Chassidus.

== Life History ==
He was born in Lubavitch in the year 5602 (1842) to his father Rebbe Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn (son of the Rebbe Tzemach Tzedek) and his mother Chana (from the Twersky family, daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael of Cherkas). He was his father's youngest son, named after his two grandfathers, Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl and the Mitteler Rebbe.

His father served as Rebbe in the city of Ovruch, and after his father's passing, Rebbe Nachum Dov Ber filled his position.

His leadership style followed the Chernobyl Chassidus tradition rather than the Chabad approach.

Rebbe Nachum Dov Ber was the brother of Rebbetzin Shterna Sarah, the wife of the Rebbe Rashab.

The Rebbe Rashab greatly respected him and said about him, "My brother-in-law is truly a servant of Hashem with a broken heart."

In the final months of his life, he became ill and traveled to Kiev, where he underwent surgery and passed away a few days later on 8 Kislev 5656 (1895). He was laid to rest in Kiev. In 5779 (2019), his grave was discovered and renovated by the Organization for Tzaddikim's Graves.

His children:

* Rebbetzin Batya Schneersohn, wife of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn, son of the Rebbe Maharash.
* Rebbetzin Chaya Mussia, wife of Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Perlov, son of the holy Rabbi Aharon, the Rebbe of Koidanov. After his father-in-law's passing, he filled his position, but only for a brief period as he passed away one year after his father-in-law.
* His son-in-law Rabbi Noach Yosef Boaz Perlov, son of Rabbi Yitzchak, grandson of Rabbi Shlomo Chaim, the first Rebbe of Koidanov. After his brother-in-law's passing, he filled his position in the rabbinate.
