Editing (Hatomim (Warsaw

HaTomim was a Torah publication that focused on Nigleh (revealed Torah), Chassidus, and Chassidic historical accounts. It was published by the Yeshiva Students Union of Tomchei Tmimim Warsaw between Tammuz 5695 - Kislev 5698 (1935-1938).

== The Publication ==
The issues were published with the blessing of the Rebbe Rayatz (Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn) who also assisted in their publication. The bulletins revealed letters and writings of our Rebbeim, and printed pilpulim (in-depth analyses) and chiddushim (novel Torah insights) in Nigleh from the Roshei Yeshiva and students, alongside Chabad chassidim who lived in Poland.

The active editor was the Rebbe. Rabbi Yechezkel Feigin, the secretary of the Rebbe Rayatz, edited the 'Shaarei Chassidus' section; Rabbi Yehuda Eber, one of the Roshei Yeshiva, edited the 'Shaarei Torah' section, and above them all served the general editor Rabbi Shmuel Zalmanov, who at that time actively managed the yeshiva. Rabbi Shneur Zalman Gurary, who was part of the spiritual staff in the yeshiva, handled the technical details of printing the publication.

32 years after its publication ceased, eight issues of 'HaTomim' were printed in two volumes. In the introduction to the new edition, editor Rabbi Shmuel Zalmanov wrote: "To our great sorrow, we only managed to publish eight issues of HaTomim, and when we were busy collecting and preparing material for the ninth issue (which was delayed for technical reasons) in late 5699 (1939), World War II broke out and unfortunately the collection was scattered. The prepared material was lost, the people who participated in editing HaTomim were scattered to different places and most of them perished in the Holocaust, including the two golden pillars Rabbi Yechezkel Feigin, editor of "Shaarei Chassidus" and Rabbi Yehuda Eber, editor of "Shaarei Torah"."

Each issue included approximately one hundred pages, more or less.

In 5723 (1963), when Rabbi Alexander Sender Yudasin requested to name his book "HaTomim," the Rebbe wrote to him that this name was taken by the publication that came out in Poland, "and perhaps it will be renewed."
