Yeshivat Tomchei Tmimim Ocean Parkway (ULY Ocean Parkway) is an institution that serves as one of the largest and most central branches of the Tomchei Tmimim yeshiva network in the United States, on the border of the Flatbush neighborhood. The institution is currently intended for students of Talmud Torah age. == History == Immediately upon the arrival of the Rebbe Rayatz to the shores of the United States, he declared that America is no different, and as a first action in this direction, he established Yeshivat Tomchei Tmimim on American soil. In the early years of the yeshiva's founding, the yeshiva simultaneously used the first floor of the apartment purchased for the Rebbe Rayatz, his institutions, and activities in the 770 Eastern Parkway building, and in the building at the corner of Bedford-Dean Streets. As the yeshiva expanded, the yeshiva's director, Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary, purchased a large area in southern Crown Heights on Maple Street with the intention of building a yeshiva on it, and in 5723/1963, a cornerstone laying ceremony was held for the yeshiva building. In practice, the deteriorating condition of the Crown Heights neighborhood led to the abandonment of this plan, and instead, it was established in one of the central locations in the new Jewish neighborhoods, in the heart of Ocean Parkway Avenue, on the border of the Flatbush neighborhood. In the initial period, the building served the children of Anash and those who were becoming close to Chabad, and later the institution took on the character of a yeshiva adapted for children who needed special academic advancement. In recent years, a new administration was appointed to lead the institution, and it began to incorporate secular studies while appealing to the Chabad community interested in this approach. Currently, students of Talmud Torah age study at the institution, alongside kindergartens. == The Yeshiva Staff == === Current Yeshiva Staff === * Rabbi Shmuel Dechter - Director * Rabbi Menachem Mendel Lipschitz - Director * Rabbi Menachem Mendel Steinmetz - Deputy Director * Rabbi Moshe Robinson - Educational Director * Educational staff: Rabbi Shneur Zalman Peiff, Rabbi Shmuel Wagner, Rabbi Yitzchak Yisrael Achter, Rabbi Simcha Haberman, Rabbi Akiva Steinmetz, Rabbi Moshe Reinitz, Rabbi Avraham Sheir, Rabbi Betzalel Baruch, Rabbi Naftali Reinitz, Rabbi Zev Feldman === Former Yeshiva Staff === * Rabbi Yosef Menachem Mendel Tenenbaum - Director * Rabbi Chaim Meir Bukiet - Rosh Yeshiva * Rabbi Abba Pikarsky - Educator * Rabbi Eliyahu Moshe Liss - Mashgiach and Mashpia * Rabbi Shalom Dovber Avtzon - Educator * Rabbi Yisrael Labkowski - Ram * Rabbi Yeshaya Zushe Wilhelm - Ram * Rabbi Yoel Kahn - Mashpia == External Links == * Yeshiva Website * Photo Gallery from the First Day of the 5784/2024 School Year * Photo Gallery from the Study Campaign Completion Ceremony * America News reporting on the Kindness of the Yeshiva
