Efraim Fishel Oster

Rabbi Efraim Fishel Oster (born 1979) is a Rosh Mesivta at Yeshivas Oholei Torah Crown Heights and serves as a Moreh Tzedek and Maggid Shiur in the Crown Heights neighborhood.

Life History[edit | edit source]

Born in Toronto to his father Rabbi Leibel Oster.

In his childhood, his family moved to live in Monsey, where he went to study at Yeshivas Beis Dovid, studying there until reaching Beis Medrash.

For Beis Medrash, he transferred to study at Tomchei Tmimim Morristown during 1996-1997. There he was among the editorial staff of Kovetz Pirchei HaTmimim in 1997.

During 1999-2000, he served as a shliach at Yeshivas Ohr Elchonon Chabad, where he became very close to the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Ezra Binyomin Schochet and even stayed with him during the summer after completing his shlichus to prepare Kovetz Migdal Ohr Volume 8.

Upon reaching marriage age, he married his wife, daughter of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Gurary.

In 2004, he was appointed as Rosh Mesivta at Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Oholei Torah Crown Heights.

Alongside the classes he gives at Yeshivas Oholei Torah Crown Heights, Rabbi Oster serves as a mashpia and guide at the 'Merkaz Avreichim' synagogue, where he gives daily classes in Chassidus and Gemara, and occasionally in halacha.

Additionally, he is one of the pillars of the Likkutei Sichos Project, and gives a weekly class on the sicha that is subsequently uploaded to the project's website.

During the summer, he serves as director of Yeshivas Kayitz Oholei Torah.

He is very beloved by all his students, due to his individual attention to each student to instill in them a path and desire for learning.
