Rabbi Aaron Leib Raskin is a member of Otzar HaChassidim editorial board - editor of the Sefer HaSichos series (by the Rebbe Rayatz), and newly printed manuscripts of the Rebbe Rashab, one of the editors of discourses in Toras Menachem - Farbrengens series, member of the Chassidus Mevueres - Tanya editorial board, and head of the 'Genuzos' Institute.

Life History[edit | edit source]

Rabbi Raskin was born around 1957 to his father R' Shalom Dov Ber Raskin who managed a fish store in Crown Heights.

In 1978 he was sent on shlichus to Tomchei Tmimim Washington. Before Passover, he went with his friends to meet with Rabbi Moshe Feinstein to present him with a book of their Torah novellae. Rabbi Raskin presented a scholarly discussion about whether one fulfills their obligation with "stolen matzah." Rabbi Feinstein discussed Torah with them and enjoyed their knowledge and learning approach. After the visit, the Rabbi issued a letter of support for the yeshiva.

In 1981 he began his work with Vaad Hanachos Hatmimim, focusing mainly on noting sources for talks and discourses.

In 1985 he married his wife Mrs. Esther, daughter of Rabbi Mordechai Shneur from Kfar Chabad.

In 1988, when several discourses the Rebbe gave were based on the Rebbe Rayatz's discourses from 1938, there was a need to publish these discourses, a task fulfilled by Rabbi Raskin. This began his work with Otzar HaChassidim.

As part of his work, he merited to edit two pamphlets distributed by the Rebbe: "Discourse Baruch She'asah Nissim 1904" which the Rebbe distributed on the night of 10th Shevat 1991, and "Pamphlet of Discourses 1922" which the Rebbe distributed on the night of 10th Shevat 1992.

He served as a spiritual mentor at Mesivta Ohalei Torah, and for many years at Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Queens.

Today, Rabbi Raskin continues his work editing our Rebbes' books, mainly of the Rebbe Rashab, and talks and discourses of the Rebbe Rayatz, and additional projects, including preparing Rabbi Yechezkel Feigin's writings for publication - activities he coordinates under the 'Genuzos Institute' under his management, through which he publishes articles, commemorative volumes and first-time revelations.

Although he doesn't hold an official position at the Central Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva, he effectively serves every morning as a respondent for Tmimim students learning at 770 during the morning Chassidus schedule.
